The BAWS Team

Julie Partridge, Founder, Head trainer, Class Instructor

Julie has been intrigued by muscular development and functional movements of the human body ever since she was a kid. She grew up watching her father workout in their basement wishing she could emulate his movements. One day he asked her to join in and the rest was history. At the ripe age of 14, Julie obtained a job at the local YMCA as a floor tech and soon worked her way up to an aerobics instructor in several local gyms after earning her certifications through AAAI & ISMA. She built an amazing reputation for herself through teaching bootcamp and pilates classes. In 2005, Julie went to the National Personal Training Institute and earned her certifications in anatomy, kinesiology, physiology, CPR and nutrition. Thereafter, she worked at two well-known fitness studios as a fitness consultant and personal trainer for the next 5 years. During her personal training phase, she was awarded Philly's Fittest Trainer in 2008 by Philly Fit Magazine. Julie was introduced to kettlebells and Crossfit workouts from a fellow trainer and immediately got hooked. She decided to educate herself further and became certified in HKC (Hard Style Kettlebell) and Crossfit Level 1. Julie's ultimate goal was to open up her own workout studio to spread her knowledge, make an impact and motivate individuals using her own style and methods. Julie has made her dream a reality and welcomes you to Bryn Athyn Workout Studio. She asks of one thing when you step in to her studio... Work it!

Michael Flint, FightFit Instructor

I trained in Muay Thai and Jeet Kune Do for 5 years at the Princeton Academy of Martial Arts (PAMA) in Princeton New Jersey under Sifu Rick Tucci. During this time I also attended seminars in PA, NJ, DE, NY and CA. At these seminars I trained with very well known teachers in their respective arts such as Guru Dan Inosanto (one of Bruce Lee's first students in the US) as well as a life long friend of the creature of JKD. Rigan Machado is one of the most well know names in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu aside from his cousins, the Gracie's. Khuen Khru Jeff Jones was an instructor at PAMA when I attended. He has since opened his own successful school, Tri-State Martial Arts Academy, where he teaches Muay Thai and other martial arts.

Michael Sheehan, FightFit Instructor

I began training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2008 as a way to get back into shape. During a trial period at a local gym I tried a Muay Thai class and was immediately hooked. After some searching around I began training at Nak Muay Gym (currently in King of Prussia, PA) under Kru Eric Karner. Here I was taught authentic Muay Thai that Kru Eric brought to his students from the Sityodtong Boxing Camp in Pattaya, Thailand under Master Yodtong. While working towards promotions in Muay Thai I also trained in MMA and Kickboxing classes. The intensity of the circuit style Kickboxing classes help me achieve the level of fitness I need to progress in Muay Thai and fuels improvements in all aspects of my life.
